Spurs table 15 million offer for versatile German international
Reports from Germany state that Spurs have made a £15M bid for Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter. Bild (via The Mirror) claims that the 23-year-old, who was part of his country’s victorious 2014 World Cup squad, is wanted by boss Mauricio Pochettino who is fearful of losing both Kyle Walker and Danny Rose this summer.
The journal also claims that Tottenham have already submitted their offer to beat off competition from North London rivals Arsenal and Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. Dortmund are understood to be ready to sell the player after coach Thomas Tuchel’s surprising departure last month and Ginter’s versatility, which can see him easily deployed in either defence or midfield, is the attribute that has attracted Pochettino who may also lose another England international, Eric Dier, this summer.
Earlier this year, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was linked with a move for one of his former charges after the calamity surrounding the transfer of Dutchman Virgil van Dijk.
