Sky Sports journalist reveals £40m midfielder to have Chelsea medical

Sky Sports journalist and presenter Jim White revealed in a Tweet that Tiemoue Bakayoko transfer to Premier League champions Chelsea is almost a done deal, with the 22-year-old to undergoes a medical in the coming days.

The switch from French champions Monaco is believed to cost the West London club between £35m-£40m.

Bakayoko was a pivotal member of Monaco’s successful campaign last season, acting as a defensive-midfielder. It is thought that Blues manager Antonio Conte will utilise him alongside Frenchman N’Golo Kante in the centre of the park.
