Ronaldo exit could mean a Real Madrid repreive for Colombian international
As speculation over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo continues to dominate the football headlines, Don Balon reports that the Portuguese superstars departure may be good news for another of the club’s galacticos; Colombian play-maker James Rodriguez.
After confirming that they have not received any bids at present for their €80M man, the portal writes that club officials may now decide to keep hold of the 24-year-old despite rumours of a possible move to Manchester United (along with Ronaldo) and Chelsea.
It’s also understood that boss Zinedine Zidane, who has always maintained that James figures in his plans, would look to give him more game time in a Ronaldo free squad, despite the reported arrival of French striking sensation Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.
Real president Florentino Perez has always had a soft spot for the Colombian after bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2014 after his exploits in the World Cup Finals in Brazil.
