Official: Everton land Rooney in £150.000-a-week deal
The Toffees announced the news this afternoon.
The former Manchester United star joined the Goodison Park side after scoring 253 goals in 559 games.
The England striker is returning to his old club on a two-year deal, having left in 2004 to move to Old Trafford for £25.6 million.
The Goodison Park side has been on a recruiting spree, landing Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Davy Klaassen.
The two sides had agreed to the move on Friday, and Rooney is set to make £150,000 a week, which will make him the highest earner at his boyhood club.
The move is likely a result of Wayne Rooney’s declining role at Old Trafford, where he has played a limited role for some time now.
The Red Devils recently landed Romelu Lukaku for a stunning £75 million.
