Liverpool launch bid for former AC Milan target
Gazzetta did reveal last year that the Reds were interested in bringing the central-defender to Anfield, when the Argentinean was playing for Serie A side AC Milan, but now it looks as if they have reignited their efforts to purchase the defender.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is reportedly set to offer the player a five-year contract, worth £2.8m a year, where he will be set to earn £54,000 a week.
But publication Sports Review say that the 21-year-old is not prepared to discuss contracts with another club until an agreement can be made between his French side Lyon and an interested party.
The buy would be relative steal for the Merseyside club, especially considering the youthful age of the player. They are hoping to solidify their defence in order to compete in the Champions League next season.
