Juve, can Mazzarri provide more quality to Juventus than Del Neri?
Yesterday's victory against Lazio showed that Juventus can perform better when the match is important. The Bianconeri earned 7 points out of 12 playing against Inter and AC Milan, 4 points out of 6 against Roma and 6 out of 6 against Lazio. They were poor only against Napoli, but they still have to play the second leg.
Despite this good trend, the club is now thinking to replace coach Del Neri, who is "accused" by Andrea Agnelli and Beppe Marotta of not motivating a great team such as Juventus. Del Neri did well with less important clubs, like Chievo or Atalanta and Sampdoria: perhaps he can only transmit this mentality to the players who in turn show determination, courage and counterattacks, but only when the match is important. This is not enough when they need to win all matches, to win the Scudetto. The evidence is when Juventus drew 2-2 with Cesena and Catania and lost 2-0 against Lecce and Bologna. On these occasions Del Neri was not able to provide the right tools for his players, the tools to become a great team.
Now the question is: Can Walter Mazzarri, whose career is similar to that of Del Neri, be able to make Juventus a great team again?
