Following a terrible start to the season, Inter will be looking to strengthen their squad in January but will only look for affordable options as confirmed by CEO Ernesto Paolillo.

“We will sign a defender,” said Paolillo. “But we shouldn’t forget that Walter Samuel was out all of last year while Lucio and Maicon have been injured. We had problems in defence but already started rebuilding with the signing of Andrea Ranocchia.

“We also need a midfielder, but can assure you that we will only get youngsters who are not too famous in order to introduce them to our team.

“Regarding new contracts, we are not working on them yet since the season is still on going and we don’t think it would be fair to do so.

“At the end of the season we will discuss expiring contracts and transfers with our manager and see which players we can keep and which wages we can afford always respecting the financial fair-play,” concluded Paolillo.
