Chelsea make approach to sign Bayern Munich star Boateng

Chelsea are looking to strengthen their defence reinforcement in the summer and after being linked with moves for Leonardo Bonucci, Virgil Van Dijk and Kostas Manolas, Sky Italia (via Metro) claim the Blues have made an approach to sign Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng.

The Germany International is one of the most solid and reliable centre-backs out there and the Italian broadcasters claim he has now become the Blues’ transfer priorities so much Conte is not even interested in signing Manolas who could leave Roma for a fee close to € 30 million.

The Greece International failed to show up for his medical yesterday and reports in Italy claim United, not Chelsea could be behind the player’s snub.

In addition to that, Sky Italia claims Bayern Munich could be interested in signing Manolas instead given Chelsea interest in their world-class defender.

Boateng, 28, has already won 11 trophies with Bayern Munich, including one Champions League. He is also a 2014 Germany World Cup winner.
