Capello: 'This is year zero for Juventus'
Speaking to ‘La politica nel Pallone’ on Gr Parlamento, Fabio Capello spoke about Juventus, in light of recent statements by it’s President Andrea Agnelli: "This is an important year for Andrea Agnelli, in the world of football. As long as you live laterally and others take the decisions it is easier. So it will be an important experience for him. I have heard and read his latest comments and they are important for the future of the club. This is year zero, from next year Juve starts again".
"When you try to rebuild and try to re-establish a club, it takes time, sometimes you can do it in a short time, sometimes it takes longer. Some injuries to key players have unfortunately penalized Juventus - said the former Juventus, now the current England coach - and also generally in the market something has not gone as it should. When players are in a situation where you absolutely have to win every game, they have enormous pressure and one needs to see how they react. The contribution that some players gave was not what the coach and the club had expected".
"Chiellini, Buffon, Krasic, Del Piero are champions, others I think are good players. We must increase the quality level of the players. When you take a team it is better to buy a few excellent players - added Capello - so many can be good. I always said; I do not want seven players but two good ones. When you want to re-establish a team you just want quality. Ibra and Robinho arrived at Milan. Finally, I told Galliani, you've got two excellent players. You need players who make the difference not the number".
The coach also spoke of another former club of his, Roma: "Roma in the hands of Americans? It would be important for Italian football. It would be important for what I've seen here in England with the arrival of foreigners such as Arabs and Russians. They have brought up English football, the resources are important".
