£45m Monaco midfielder pushes for Arsenal switch
The 21-year-old has been on Gunner’s manager Arsene Wenger’s radar for several weeks and the French boss even placed a £30m bid for the attacker – but it was rejected by Monaco.
The North Londoners have had a busy window so far, bringing in Alexandre Lacazette for a club record of £52 plus add-ons, and now they are growing increasingly confident that they can snap up the highly-rated French international.
Arsenal, it is thought, are prepared to offer Lemar a £100,000 a week contract, and on a deal that would see him be playing at the Emirates for five years.
The player impressed many last season with Monaco, helping them win the French league and Champions League semi-finalist, with 14 goals and 14 assists.
