Roma star Manolas to miss Chelsea clash

Roma star Kostas Monlas is going to skip Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Chelsea. The Greece International was replaced in the second half of Roma-Napoli due to a muscle injury yesterday and the giallorossi boss Eusebio Di Francesco confirmed after the game that the player is not going to be eligible to play against the Blues next week.

“He still has to undergo medical exams but the way he picked up that injury makes me think that he won’t make it for Chelsea”, Di Francesco admitted.

Former Spurs star Federico Fazio replaced Manolas yesterday night and the Argentinean could also replace Manolas this coming Wednesday when the two sides will meet at the Stamford Bridge.

Di Francesco hopes Kevin Strootman will at least recover in time to travel to London and face Chelsea next week. The Holland International skipped yesterday’s clash against Napoli but should be eligible to play on Wednesday.
