Liverpool receive a boost in their pursuit of Naby Keita
RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita has been linked with a move to Liverpool over the past several months. The 22-year-old Guinean international is at the top of coach Jurgen Klopp’s wish-list despite constant denials by the Bundesliga club that he is for sale.
Having qualified for next season’s Champions League after finishing runners-up to Bayern Munich last season, the club’s Sporting Director, Ralf Rangnick explained that; “We will definitely not be letting any key players go. There's nothing that will make us budge. It's totally normal for clubs to be interested in our players, but that doesn't affect our stance on the matter."
Despite these comments however, Liverpool will have been encouraged by the players recent activity on Instagram (via The Mirror) were he liked a photograph of himself wearing the club’s new red shirt. Klopp has already made a real statement if intent by signing Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah for just over £34M and Reds’ fans will be hoping there are more big name signings arriving at Anfield before the start of the new campaign.
