Valencia have been eliminated from the Champions League after their 1-0 away defeat against Juventus and Manchester United’s late 1-0 win over Young Boys.

Speaking in a post-match press conference, the manager of the Spanish side commented the decisive goal scored by Marouane Fellaini at the Old Trafford.

The Belgian scored the winner in the final minutes but his goal should have been disallowed due to a handball: “That’s what makes football great”, Marcelino said.

“Champions League is a special competition, a great competition and in football details make the difference. I’ve been told about Fellaini handball, I think that such a big competition must adopt VAR”, Marcelino said.

The Spaniard has more regrets about Valencia’s elimination from the Champions League: “We played against a great team tonight, one of the favorites to win the title. It’s a pity because we deserved to win at Old Trafford and we didn’t play well in Bern, against Young Boys. As I said before, details make the difference in football”.

“Juventus have Mandzukic, Ronaldo, Dybala and Douglas Costa. Valencia can’t afford to buy these players and we know that. They are one of the favorites clubs to win the Champions League. They have strong strikers, amazing physical and technical skills."

"They are on the same level of Barça and Atletico and I wouldn’t forget Atletico Madrid. Ronaldo is always a great player. He is always so much involved in Juventus’ attacking actions”.
