Man Utd and Juve warned as Atletico plot move for Fiorentina star

Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic is a name on the lips of many top club's in Europe - the towering Serbian defender considered to be the next Nemanja Vidic and is therefore a hot property. Atletico Madrid tried to sign Milenkovic in the summer, bidding a reported figure of around €40m in an attempt to secure his services. However, Fiorentina refused in the hope of receiving more in the future.

However, Atletico do not appear to be letting up - with a number of scouts spotted at Fiorentina games throughout the season to monitor the progress of the Serbian. There is not just Atletico on Milenkovic however, with Manchester United and Juventus also touted as possible destinations. A move to Manchester United would see Milenkovic emulate the career of the man he is compared to and, therefore, he may choose to take up this option. However, Milenkovic could also want to forge his own path and shake the Vidic comparisons - in which case a move to Atletico or Juventus would make sense.

Milenkovic will not be allowed to leave in January and therefore all eyes on next summer in regards to the future of Fiorentina's impressive young centre-back.
