Liverpool reportedly agree £74.5M fee for Naby Keita
Some sensational transfer news has emerged this morning with reports suggesting that Liverpool has finally agreed a fee with RB Leipzig for midfield star Naby Keita. The 22-year-old Guinean international has been one of the hottest properties on the summer window with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp determined to bring him to Anfield next season.
Having already reportedly had two offers of £57.3M and £66M rejected by the Bundesliga side, Winner Sports claims that Friday’s third attempt of £74.5M has now been accepted. The portal also claims that the payment for the player will be made up front.
Sources close to the German side have stated that; “it was in the best interest of all parties to accept this offer”. Leipzig patron Dietrich Mateschitz is believed to have been informed of the new offer on Friday evening and has now given the green-light for the transfer to go ahead. If these reports are confirmed, the fee will smash the Merseyside club’s current record of £39M they paid AS Roma for Mohamed Salah last month with Leipzig reportedly to get 10% of any future sale.
