Exclusive: rising tension between Sarri and Chelsea as Marina Granovskaia puts Higuain transfer on hold

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is desperate to reunite with his former striker Gonzalo Higuain in the January transfer window but the Blues’ Director Marina Granovskaia has put the Argentinean’s transfer on hold.

Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano can exclusively reveal that Sarri is pushing to finalize the deal in the January transfer window. The Blues are in need of a top striker given that Morata could be sold in the current transfer window.

Chelsea, however, don’t want to spend a fee close to € 50 million for a player that has just turned 31 and that’s what is putting Higuain’s transfer on hold.

The tension between Sarri and Chelsea is rising. The Italian tactician strongly wants Higuain and, at the same time, Chelsea are not happy about Sarri’s claims about Pulisic transfer. The former Napoli boss claimed that he wasn't informed by the board about the positive end of negotiations to sign the American wonderkid.

Leonardo’s harsh words about the Pipita didn’t change the club’s strategy: AC Milan want to retain Higuain until the end of the season. The future of the Argentinean depends on him but at the moment Chelsea haven’t made any official bid to sign the experienced striker who managed 36 goals in Serie A in the 2015/16 campaign with Napoli when Sarri was in charge of the Partenopei.
