Why haven't Napoli extended Sarri's deal yet?

Dopo Tonelli dovrebbe toccare a Sarri. Il presidente del Napoli Aurelio De Laurentiis è pronto a vedere l’allenatore azzurro per discutere del contratto.

Why hasn't Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri renewed his contract yet?

After a fantastic season, in which his Partenopei played lights-out football and showed that they could compete for the title again, it is bizzarre that Sarri's rolling one-year deal hasn't been extended yet.

The main reason seems to be that he hasn't met chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, but his absence at a Football Leader event tomorrow (where he was supposed to receive an award) seems to indicate that Sarri will finally meet with his chairman.

Technically, ADL doesn't need to have Sarri's agreement to renew the contract before May 31st,

It is very likely that his Coach wants more: a two-year deal for a start, and for Napoli to double his salary to €1.6 million.

There's more: Sarri also wants clarity on the transfer situation. He was given Grassi and Regini at Christmas, and went on to barely use them. Napoli have since added his former charge Luca Tonelli from Empoli, but Sarri didn't want him, either.

Clearly, the two don't see eye to eye on a number of things, and will need to straighten things out.
