Tottenham and Barcelona ‘open to trigger’ release clause of French midfielder

Juventus are long time admirers of Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi who is contracted with the La Liga side until 2020 and has a release clause of € 40 million included in his contract.

The Serie A giants have already reached an economic agreement with the 28-year-old but they haven’t yet managed to close a deal with Sevilla. The La Liga side are not open to sell the player for less than his release fee and Juventus don’t want to pay as much. Their latest offer is € 30 million plus add-ons which, however, is not enough for Sevilla.



According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sevilla are not willing to accept a lower fee because they are aware of the interest of many other top clubs, including Barcelona, Psg and Tottenham. The Italian paper reports each one of these clubs would be open to match the player’s release clause and that’s why Sevilla are still not willing to accept Juventus’ bid.

Circumstances given, the Champions League finalists could retire from the race to sign N’Zonzi, in fact they have made contact with Psg for their departing star Blaise Matuidi.
