Milan welcome Sampdoria at the Giuseppe Meazza hoping to get back to winning ways after last week's 1-0 defeat to Juventus. With coach Sinisa Mihajlovic constantly under pressure, he and the team had to meet with club president Silvio Berlusconi yesterday, as well as daughter Barbara and CEO Adriano Galliani. As we reported in these pages, Mihajlovic has to deliver results by January to make sure he keeps his place. Before losing the Derby to the Bianconeri, Milan had managed three straight wins (Sassuolo, Chievo and Lazio) and a dull 0-0 draw at home to Atalanta.

Sampdoria, for their part, have just begun life under new coach Vincenzo Montella. The former Fiorentina coach replaced Walter Zenga during the international break, though he lost his maiden game on the road to Udinese, 1-0.

Montella played three seasons at the Marassi before moving to AS Roma, scorign 54 goals in three Serie A seasons.

    Lineups:

MILAN (4-4-2) - Donnarumma, Abate, Alex, Romagnoli, Antonelli; Cerci, Kucka, Montolivo, Bonaventura; Bacca, Niang.

SAMPDORIA (4-3-1-2) - Viviano; De Silvestri, Silvestre, Regini, Mesbah; Ivan, Fernando, Barreto; Soriano; Muriel, Eder.

    Stats:

    • Sampdoria have lost their last two league fixtures – they haven’t lost three in a row in Serie A since April 2014.
    • Sampdoria are the only side yet to have a substitute score in Serie A this season.
    • AC Milan are the only team yet to gain a single point from a losing position in this Serie A campaign: they have lost each of the five games in which they have gone behind.
    • The Rossoneri have the lowest shooting accuracy in Serie A this season (32.5%).
    • Antonio Cassano has scored eight goals in 18 Serie A games against AC Milan: only against Fiorentina has he netted more in the top-flight (9).
    • Sinisa Mihajlovic has won only one of his four league meetings against his former side Sampdoria as manager (D2 L1).
    • Vincenzo Montella has picked up seven points in his last three Serie A games as manager against AC Milan at the San Siro.
