Roma fans accuse Pallotta, Pjanic of 'high treason'

It's bad enough that Roma are selling Miralem Pjanic, despite the club's recent assurances to the contrary, giving  fans the impression that the club was ready to build on its present success.

To Roma fans, selling him to a hated rival in Juventus is nothing short of high treason, and they've made their feelings very much known on social media, both on Roma and Pjanic's accounts. Having claimed that the Lupa was shooting for the stars over the last few days, president James Pallotta now finds himself being viewed as the Olimpico's very own Benedict Arnold.

Some fans are already worried about who will follow the Bosnian out the door: though it seems very ulikely that Radja Nainggolan will follow his team-mate to the J Stadium, the Belgian's recent declarations leave no doubt that he is considering his options.

The faithful are split between those who are lobbying for him to stay, and those who are encouraging him to take the money and run, so as not protract the agony.

Others, however, are curious about what will be done with the proceeds: a sticky issue, seeing as Roma also have FFP to think about.

All in all, it's not set to be an enjoyable summer for Giallorossi fans. Let us hope for their sake that some good news is due their way, too.
