According to the Italian paper Il Corriere della Sera, Inter want to sign Lazio playmaker Lucas Biglia in the January transfer window.

It's no secret that Roberto Mancini wants to add a quality central midfielder to the Nerazzurri roster, and after Andrea Pirlo turned down a January Inter move, the club are reported to have set sights on the 29-year-old.

The Argentina International’s move to San Siro could be on the cards, as the player does not want to extend his contract expiring in 2018 with Lazio, and is eager to leave the club following an amazing season at the Stadio Olimpico.

Il Corriere della Sera also reports that Inter would offer Biglia a contract worth € 3 million per year, while Claudio Lotito’s only offering him € 2.2 million a year to remain at the club.

Biglia’s move, by the way, does not depend only on the player’s will, but also on Inter’s financial position, which at the moment is anything but strong.

As the club’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio previously revealed, it will be almost impossible for Inter to spend big money on new signings in the January transfer window unless some top players leave the club.
