REPORT: Balotelli needs surgery, will miss three months

    • Lorenzo Bettoni (@lorebetto)
Former Manchester City striker and Liverpool loanee Mario Balotelli has been out of action since September 27th owing to a sports hernia, but the 25-year-old season seems to go from bad to worse as the former Inter star’s injury  is still not letting up and he could need surgery to get rid of it.

According to the online edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Liverpool loanee will undergo surgery this week and  could be forced out of action for at least three months. The decision was reported to be shared by Milan and Liverpool.

As previously reported, the product of Inter and Lanciano Academy, underwent medical consultation with doctor Per Holmic in Copenhagen earlier last week. Results of the examination were not good, so much so he was also diagnosed with inguinal hernia.

Balotelli’s comeback is set to be in the middle of February 2016. Circumstances given, Milan seem not likely to make the 25-year-old stay at the Stadio San Siro permanent and the Rossoneri could also need to add another central forward to the likes of Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano in the January transfer window.
