PSG prepared to sell Verratti to Man Utd - if they can have this player as part of the deal
Manchester United are in the hunt for Paris Saint-Germain midfield star Marco Verratti. The Red Devils have made their move after Barcelona reportedly cooled their interest in the 24-year-old Italian.
United boss Jose Mourinho has also given the green-light for an assault on the player with Chelsea seemingly not prepared to budge on their £50M valuation of Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic. According to The Mirror, CEO Ed Woodward is now ready to sit down and negotiate with the French side to see if a deal can be struck but the Parisians are understood to have told him that they will only start talking if French forward Anthony Martial is part of the deal.
The Red Devils are reluctant to part with the 21-year-old despite criticism from Mourinho last season about his apparent lack of commitment to the club. With Verratti now having appointed super-agent Mino Raiola as his adviser, United believe he could be the key to bringing the Italian to Old Trafford this summer; Raiola is also the agent of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and has an excellent rapport with United bosses.
