Premier League club chase AS Roma star Strootman

AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman is said to be a transfer target of Premier League side Everton. The Dutchman has just returned to action after a lengthy lay off which had sidelined him for over two years due to two different knee injury.

Strootman, however, is now getting consistent game time under Luciano Spalletti this term, so much so he has already collected ten appearances and two goals in all competitions this term.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman is believed to be a long time admirer of his compatriot and according to the Mirror, he’s going to make a bid at the end of the season as he’s looking for a long time replacement for Gareth Barry who will turn 36 by the end of the campaign.

Strootman had already been linked with a move to Everton last summer, whilst he was also a transfer target of Luois Van Gaal at Manchester United last term.

Strootman’s Roma contract runs until 2018 and the two parties have yet to find agreement over the player’s contract extension.
