We'd reported on this possibility earlier, but now that the Parisians have confirmed it, Italian fans will understandably hit the panic button.
As reported on the Ligue 1 club's official website, the former Pescara star will undergo surgery on May 16th to cure his sport hernia.
With no Verratti and no Claudio Marchisio in the midfield, things look painful indeed for the Azzurri.
