New AC Milan: Gancikoff to be appointed as CEO. Which future for Galliani and Barbara?
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Sal Galatioto’s right-hand man Nicholas Gancikoff (pictured below) will be appointed as new CEO. The 42-year-old businessman attended a meeting with Montella and Galliani only two days ago and his identity is the only one know as the names of Chinese investors that will complete the club’s takeover have not been disclosed yet.
The appointment of Gancikoff will not prevent Adriano Galliani from working for the club for a few seasons more. Galliani will remain in charge as executive-vice president and will have the responsibility for the club’s transfer market as well as for the relationship of the rossoneri with other clubs and formal institutions.
The Chinese consortium doesn’t want to lose an experienced director like Galliani who is also well linked with the rest of the Italian football panorama.
Silvio Berlusconi’s daughter Barbara, on the other hand, could be leaving the club after the Chinese consortium completes the club's takeover.
