Napoli star Milik injured with suspected rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament

Some very bad news for Napoli fans as their star Arkadiusz Milik could have suffered rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament during yesterday night’s World Cup qualifier tie between Poland and Denmark.

The Poland International starter the game alongside Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski but got injured minutes before the half time whistle and was replaced during the break by Sampdoria midfielder Karol Linetty.

Sky Italia reports that 22-year-old striker is very likely to suffer his anterior cruciate ligament injury even if he will undergo medical tests today.

If the diagnosis will be confirmed, Milik is set to face a long lay-off and could remain out of action up to six months.

AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo picked up a similar injury just a few days ago during a world cup qualification tie between Italy and Spain.

Milik moved to Napolo from Ajax this summer in a € 30 million deal and his impact at the San Paolo has been devastating so far as the Poland International has scored seven goals and registered one assist in the opening nine games of the season.
