    Milan monitor situation with Vrsaljko

According to Spanish portal fichajes.net, Milan are closely monitoring the situation with Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko. The 24-year-old Croatian joined the capital club from Sassuolo this summer but since his arrival at the Vicente Calderon, has only made one first-team appearance, against Sporting Gijon.

Vrsaljko was hot property this summer after some scintillating displays with the neroverdi last term. Napoli were one of a host of clubs to express an interest before the player opted to join Diego Simeone's team, signing a five-year-deal. The rossoneri are keen to make January reinforcements with their new Chinese owners ready to give the club €100 million to try to return them to the top of Italian football whilst securing a place in next season's Champions League. Should Vrsaljko decide to call time on his short stay in La Liga, Milan are sure to face strong competition in order to bring him to the San Siro.
