Manchester United star linked with a shock move to Turkey

The future of Manchester United winger Ashley Young remains uncertain. The 31-year-old, who has just 12 months left on his current deal at Old Trafford, looks set to vacate his space in the dressing-room and according to The Sun, his future could well lie in Turkey.

The journal writes that Super Lig side Istanbul Basaksehir are interested in the former England international after they qualified for next season’s Champions League. The club see Young as being able to bring a wealth of European experience with him after six years at the Theatre of Dreams.

Back in April, Young spoke about his future, explaining that; “There is always speculation, especially when there is a transfer window and you are not playing. But I have always said that I want to play as much as possible. What the future holds I am not too sure. I am just concentrating on each game and when the manager calls on me I will give 100 per cent and look to play as well as I can. That is what I am concentrating on now. That is the main focus for me and then we will see what happens."

Young only started 15 games under Jose Mourinho last term and if he were to leave for Turkey, he would follow in the footsteps of Robin van Persie who left United for Fenerbahce in 2015.
