Liverpool believe they have €40m Roma star in the bag
Liverpool are confident of landing Mohamed Salah, according to the latest reports from England.
The Mail on Sunday (via the Mirror) report that the Reds are ‘confident’ of signing the Roma winger for £35 million, or €40m.
The 24-year-old was formerly a Chelsea player, but shined in two-and-a-half seasons in Serie A, first for Fiorentina, then with Roma.
As reported by Sky Italia yesterday, his agent is flying to Liverpool to meet with the Anfield club. This may explain why the Reds are feeling so confident.
Roma have tended to sell one of their big names every summer, with Miralem Pjanic, Mehdi Benatia and Marquinhos just some of the names that have left the club.
Sky Italia also confirmed that the two sides had agreed on the €40m price tag, Liverpool having seen their initial €32m offer be rejected.
The Egyptian star has also been reported to have agreed to personal terms with Liverpool.
