Napoli look to the Bundesliga for Reina replacement

Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina confirmed on Sunday that he would be leaving the club in the summer.

The search is now on to find his successor and latest reports suggest that the Partenopei will look to the Bundesliga to try a replacement.

The player at the centre of the speculation is Bayer Leverkusen custodian Bernd Leno. Calciomercato.com understands that contact has been made between the two parties but that the 25-year-old will only consider a move to Italy if he is guaranteed to be the first choice at the Stadio San Paolo.

Italian agent, Fabio Parisi, is the intermediary being used by the Southern Italian giants to try to bring Leno to Serie A and his experience will be critical during negotiations.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis and his stance on image rights, has seen the club lose out on several big name stars in the last few years, now Sporting Director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is asking for regular updates on the situation.
