Hope remains alive, especially after the transfer of Lucas Biglia to Milan, for the hypothesis of Mario Pasalic to secure the Lazio midfield. According to Sky Sport, contacts with Chelsea continue for the ex Milan midfielder, who would join Lucas Leiva as a Biancoceleste newboy and replacement for the outgoing Argentine captain Biglia.

Pasalic is deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea, and the Blues are expected to be shopping around the 22 year old talent, with a return to Serie A on the table. Valued in the region of 8 million EUR, Lazio will be looking to immediately reinvest money from the Biglia sale to strengthen the gaps left by his sale. The young Croatian would lower the average age of the squad will still reinforcing with quality, and most importantly he has Serie A experience from last season. Pasalic played in 24 games for the Rossoneri, 20 of which he featured in the starting lineup.
