Latest updates on Brozovic’s contract extension

Roberto Mancini wants Marcelo Brozovic to be one of Inter’s mainstays next season. The Croatia International’s performances have been increasing a lot this season, though the former Dynamo Zagreb star needs to be more consistent in order to impose himself as one of the best European midfielders.

Scorer of eight goals in all competitions this term, Brozovic is a target of both Arsenal and Bayern Munich even if both clubs have yet failed to make a formal bid so far.

Brozovic joined Inter in January 2015 for a fee of € 8 million and his € 1,2 million-a-year contract runs until 2019. Inter have already opened talks to extend the player’s stay at the San Siro, but negotiations have been put on hold after a couple of meetings held with the player’s entourage in March.

Inter need to renew Brozovic’s deal before EURO 2016 as the 24-year-old midfielder will be one of those players claiming a starring role during the summer tournament being a starter in Croatia’s midfield alongside Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric.

If Brozovic’s performances in the summer will further attract the interest of the best European clubs, Inter could struggle to keep him at the club without a contract extension and a pay rise.
