Juventus on alert as De Vrij & Lazio contract negotiations continue to stall

The latest offer from Lazio would extend the contract until the end of June 2020 and would see De Vrij earn €2,8 million exclusing bonuses per season as well as contain a minimum release fee clause set at €25 million. The Dutch defender has agreed to all but one term, namely the one concerning his wages which he wants the Biancocelesti to increase. Lazio on their part are reluctant to agree to raising his wages but if they were to agree they would like to raise his minimum release fee clause, which De Vrij is not to keen on doing.
Meanwhile Juventus are lurking in the background, especially after club Director Marotta declared that the Bianconeri will strenghten their defence and therefore are monitoring the situation closely to see if there is a possibility of signing the player on a free transfer. However their interest will cool down considerably if De Vrij signs a new contract with a high minimum release fee clause.
