Italian clubs are looking at Liverpool striker for a January move

Out of favor Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge appears to be headed for a January split from Anfield. Speculation over his next destination has been rampant in recent weeks, ranging from Premier League teams, to even MLS.

Now, it appears his next move may be to Italy, where a number of teams are looking for a striker. In the past he has been linked, multiple times, to AC Milan, and it stands to reason they’d still be interested in him.

The Rossoneri has struggled to find consistent scoring up top (Aside from Andre Silva in Europa League), and feel Sturridge may be the answer. However, regardless of what executives from the San Siro have been saying, the storied organization is squarely under a dark cloud as questions about ownership continue to gather momentum. It’s unclear whether Yonghong Li has the money to spend on any more players, or even if he’s the true owner of AC Milan.

As for Sturridge, he’s desperate to make next year’s English World Cup squad, and knows that he’ll need playing time to do so. A move abroad may be in his best interest.
