Inter, the five goalkeepers who could replace Handanovic
Inter will be in need of fresh cash in the summer in order to invest money on new recruits and Handanovic is very likely to be one of those big names who’s sale is going to improve the club’s finances.
Piero Ausilio wants an Italian goalkeeper who would have no problem adapting to Serie A football. A goalkeeper with winning mentality and personality. Let’s see who could be the Slovenia International replacement in the 2016-17 campaign.
MATTIA PERIN – The Genoa goalie is the nerazzurri’s number one target. Perin, 23, was supposed to be Italy’s third-choice goalkeeper before he picked up a serious knee injury which will prevent him from being part of the azzurri’s EURO 2016 squad. The injury and his € 15 million price-tag represent the major obstacles to his acquisition.
MARCO SPORTIELLO – His first two top-flight season at Atalanta have been really positive. Sportiello could be Perin’s replacement at EURO 2016 and costs less than his compatriot. Napoli, however, are in pole position to sign hi, though the partenopei would initially deploy him as a back-up of Pepe Reina, while Inter would give him the starter status strigh-away.
FEDERICO MARCHETTI – Nine years older than both Perin and Sportiello, Marchetti has just extended his contract with Lazio, though Juventus want to sing him as a back-up of Gianluigi Buffon.
SALVATORE SIRIGU – The former Palermo star will definitely leave PSG next summer as he’s sick and tired of his second-choice goalkeeper role behind Kevin Trapp. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Fiorentina too and he’s definitely the most experienced candidate in terms of European games played in his career.
EMILIANO VIVIANO – Sampdoria’s shot-stopper combines quality and experience. His season at the Marassi has been probably the most positive of his entire career. With Inter and Sampdoria on very good terms, sealing his transfer may not be as difficult as signing the other four goalkeepers. Inter-owned goalkeepers Bardi and Di Gennaro could travel the opposite direction in a player-plus swap deal.
