Frank de Boer is the new coach of Inter. The 46-year-old Dutchman has signed a three-year deal as the clubs new owners show their trust in the former Ajax tactician.
 

The length of the deal has surprised many as the nerazzurri are aware that next summer, Diego Simeone is highly likely to leave Atletico Madrid and has made noises about a return to the club he represented as a player.
 

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have taken this into consideration and have protected themselves by inserting a clause in the agreement signed by de Boer, in which the coach can be sacked at the end of the season if results are not achieved. In case of failure to qualify for the Champions League, Inter has the power to terminate the contract of de Boer and consider a move for Simeone; the Dutchman is now left in no doubt as to what is expected of him over the next nine-months.
