Inter ready to hijack Liverpool's quest for Naby Keita

Inter are reportedly ready to try to intercept Liverpool’s quest to land Bundesliga star Naby Keita. Calciomercato.com’s Pasquale Guarro, who is with the Nerazzurri at the pre-season training camp in Riscone, writes that Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and transfer guru Walter Sabatini are weighing up the possibilities of trying to bring the 22-year-old to Serie A.

The players current club, RB Leipzig, have constantly stated that the Guinean international is not for sale and reports surfaced on Friday that the Premier League side had had a £57M bid rejected. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has identified the youngster as his priority summer target and its believed he could approach Leipzig with another offer over the weekend.

Inter are in no such hurry however, Guarro believes that whilst the Italian side would like to add him to their squad this summer, they are aware that he will be allowed to leave his current employers next summer when a €55M buyout clause comes into effect and may even try to agree a deal for the player to remain in place for the upcoming campaign before making his move to the San Siro in 2018.
