Inter DS Ausilio left impressed by Germany starlet
Weigl, 21, was voted as best young player in Bundesliga last season and has earned a regular spot in Borussia Dortmund’s startling line-up under Thomas Tuchel during the last couple of seasons.
Ausilio was spotted at the San Siro yesterday night alongside Inter GM Giovanni Gardini and the nerazzurri executive are said to have scouted both Bernd Leto and Matteo Darmain. The first one could become Samir Handanovic’s heir at the end of the season, the latter is a January target of the San Siro outfit.
Weigl is going to be monitored by Inter in the future, but if the nerazzurri want to seal the Germany starlet, they know they’ll have to beat off competition of Premier League giants Manchester City whose boss Pep Guardiola is one of the biggest admirers of Weigl.
The Germany International’s contract with Borussia Dortmund runs until 2019. He has four appearances with his national team and one goal in 66 games with his club.
