French ace to choose Real Madrid over Barcelona

Reports in Spain suggest that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ousmane Dembele has aborted a possible move to Barcelona and now prefers a summer switch to their bitter rivals Real Madrid. The highly-rated French youngster has been heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou but according to Don Balon, the Catalan’s interest in the player looks to have cooled as they continue to chase down Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool.

Now it’s thought that Dembele has grown frustrated with Barca’s lack of activity and has set his sights on joining the Spanish champions in the capital. His current employers have accepted the fact that they could lose one of their star performers this summer and talks between Dortmund and Barcelona had got under way but negotiations look to be on hold.

Dembele has shot to stardom with the Bundesliga side and has become one of Europe’s hottest prospects. Real boss Zinedine Zidane sees the young Frenchman as the possible heir to Luka Modric at the Santiago Bernabeu.
