Francesco Totti hints at coaching career, revealed he almost joined another Serie A club
The 40-year-old striker has released an interview with Il Corriere dello Sport and here’s what he told the Italian paper.
“I am fit, I am playing and let’s see how long it lasts. I’d like to help Roma in the future. Many of my old teammates started a coaching career so...who knows?”
“When I was a child, I used to play football from 2pm to 8pm, every day, all year long. In my bedroom there was a poster of Giannini. Walls were all red and yellow, it looked like the Curva Sud.”
“In 1997, I went close to joining Sampdoria, then I scored in a game against Ajax and the at the time president Franco Sensi asked me to stay. When we won the scudetto a few years later, people went literally mad.”
“Zeman was the manager I had had a better relation with. Spalletti is a good person. He’s a winner. Antonio Cassano is the player with the best technical skills and Alessandro Nesta my friend of Lazio. Pablo Montero was a very hard defender to face.”
