Former Spurs man ready to push for Barca move
The former Tottenham man was given a leg up by Blaugrana star Neymar, and may even resort to forcing his way out of Guangzhou Evergrande.
Paulinho, who joined the Chinese Super League side for €14 million in 2015, and has since scored 13 goals in CSL action.
Linked to a €20m move to Barcelona (though Guangzhou want 40m for him), the 28-year-old wants to return to elite football, and make sure that he’s on the plane for Russia 2018.
Neymar was very supportive of his fellow Brazilian, telling media recently that: “I hope Paulinho signs for Barca.
“He is a friend and a great player, everyone would receive him with open arms. He’s got great quality, everyone has seen what he can do when he plays for the national team.”
The Brazilian international had, according to Sport, accepted Barca’s offer of €5 million a year a few days ago. That would be a 25% reduction of his wages.
