EXCLUSIVE! Tottenham in talks for Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj
Fiorentina have underplayed the agent’s requests, but Badelj’s future could be now far from the Serie A.
Calciomercato.com can exclusively report that Tottenham have made an approach for Fiorentina’s midfielder, as representatives from the two clubs met last Thursday in Florence ahead of their Europa League clash.
According to our sources, the player has already told his agent he would like to play for Tottenham, should he leave the Franchi in the future. Valencia are also interested in signing the former Hamburger SV man, but Badelj would prefer a move to the White Hart Lane.
Badelj, 26, is a mainstay at Fiorentina, so much so that La Viola manager Paulo Sousa doesn’t want to lose his central midfielder at any cost, which is why Fiorentina will try to find an agreement with the player’s agent in the next few weeks.
The Croatia International has scored one goal and registered one assist in 24 seasonal games this term and his price tag is believed to be in the region of € 7 million.
Spurs had already targeted him back in 2012, when Badelj was playing for GNK Dinamo Zagreb.
