EXCLUSIVE Spurs, Barca target Mandzukic set to remain at Juventus despite Higuain arrival
The Croatian international wants to remain with Juventus, who in turnwant to keep a player who will come in very handy in their quest to win on every front this season.
The former Bayern star has attracted a lot of interest: Tottenham and Bayern themselves came calling in spring, whilst Barcelona (who have done more than just send feelers), West Ham and Everton have joined the fray more recently.
Back in May, it was Mandzukic who took himself out of the shop window, with Juve considering him to be neither unsellable or transfer-listed, and who were unwilling to negotiate for anything less than €25 million anyway.
The Croatian's wish to stay is music to Coach Max Allegri's ears: last season, Mandzukic started very often, even ahead of Alvaro Morata, who took his place at the Allianz Arena because the former Bayern man wasn't in shape.
Now, Manduzkic seems to have a key role in the locker room, and was also fundamental in convincing compatriot Marko Pjaca to the J Stadium.
Higuain's arrival sounds like it's good news for Manduzkic, anyway: Juventus will now have to build around an out-an-out striker, which is exactly what the Croatian does, too.
The club intends to try to sit down with Mandzukic and reach an agreement, and then arrange a meeting with Coach Allegri too, with whom the former Bayern and Atletico man enjoys a good relationship.
