EXCLUSIVE Romano: Juventus' future lies in Serie B shopping spree
Why go shopping overseas when the Made in Italy brand is undergoing a renaissance? Why snub Serie B? If Marco Verratti has taught us (and especially Juve) anything, it's that Italian teams can find tactically astute, local youngsters just one division below them. Talk about Occam's Razor!
In this light, Juventus have already invested money to bring in Rolando Mandragora (18 years old ) stuck a pin in Stefano Sensi (he's 20, and is known as the "New Verratti"), have checked out Marcello Trotta (23) and are ready to bring in Gianluca Lapadula (25), whose agents they will meet today despite Pescara's resistance. The Delfini want at least 5 million for their star striker, whilst Juventus hope to insert either Pasquato or Beltrame in the deal.
The Old Lady has also focussed on Como's Simone Andrea Ganz (22)... whose father Maurizio played for Inter and Milan back in the 90's. Few people are quite as sharp as this kid in front of goal, he is now a Juventus player thanks to the efforts of Fabio Paratici and Federico Cherubini, who is responsible for the club's youth setup.
The Juventus method works, ladies and gentlemen. Immobile, Gabbiadini, Zaza and Berardi... if only they'd kept the first two!
