Daniele De Rossi reveals ‘pros and cons’ of Antonio Conte

Daniele De Rossi knows Antonio Conte very well. The duo are among the best personalities of Italian football in the last decade and they had been working together with Italy national team. De Rossi has never hidden his admiration for Conte and in an interview released with La Gazzetta dello Sport he has praised his compatriot on the eve of the Champions League clash between Roma and Chelsea.

“It’s great to be a player of Conte. It’s not easy but it’s great. He called me before Euro 2016 and said: ‘I’ll give you a call up only if you are 100% fit, otherwise you will stay home’. I love people like him, I love people who say the truth.”

“Tactically he is a monster, an animal of the pitch. If I’ll become a manager one day, he would be one of my models alongside Spalletti and Luis Enrique.”

“Conte made me believe that I could work harder, that I could be a certain kind of player. There is only one way to be one of his footballers: either you die of work or you don’t go far with him.”
