CONTE SIGNS THREE-YEAR DEAL WITH CHELSEA
The Italy manager won three consecutive Serie A titles with Juventus, helping bring the Bianconeri back among Europe's elite, despite never making it past the Champions League quarter-finals. The side he assembled was led by Max Allegri to the final last season, only to lose a narrow game 3-1 to Barcelona.
Chelsea's website also summed up his feelings: "I'm very excited at the opportunity to work with Chelsea. I'm proud to be Italy's manager, and only such an enticing offer could make me switch roles.
OPINION: Relentless Conte can turn Chelsea into winners
"I plan to meet everyone at the club and prepare the team to compete for the Premier League title next year.
"Chelsea and English football are warched everywhere in the world. The fans are very passionate and my ambition is to win trophies, after having done so in Italy.
"I am happy that the news has been announced, thus making my position more clear and allowing me to focus on the national team. I'll only talk of Chelsea after the European Championships are over".
Conte has signed a three-year deal worth 21 million, as confirmed below
Not all reactions have been positive, however...Conte - Chelsea: Three year contract. He will earn €6.5 mill first year, €7 mill second year, and €7.5 mill third year. €21 mill in total.
