Chelsea tempt Donnarumma with huge salary increase
The Italian broadcasters claim that Antonio Conte is considering offering the 17-year-old goalkeeper a salary in the region of € 4 million a year which is the double of what AC Milan have offered him and his agent Mino Raiola to extend the player’s stay at the club beyond 2018 which is the expiring date in Donnarumma’s contract.
AC Milan want Donnarumma to sign a new contract before he turns 18 on the 25th of February and have already begun new contract talks with Raiola. The Italian agent, however, is well aware of the interest of the best European clubs and has put negotiations on hold, refusing AC Milan’s offer.
The contract extension of Donnarumma will be one of priority for the new owners of the club. Chinese consortium Sino-Europe are going to finalize the club’s takeover at the beginning of December and new AC Milan’s CEO Marco Fassone will meet Mino Raiola shortly after the end of negotiations.
Chelsea are not the only Premier League club interested in signing the promising goalkeeper as Manchester City are also said to be tracking the 17-year-old shot-stopper alongside European giants Real Madrid and Juventus.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that Donnarumma’s price-tag could be around € 60 million at the moment.
