CEO Manchester City: "Bonucci wanted to join us but Juve would not sell"
Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano has been speaking to Radio Catalunya ahead of tonight’s big clash with Barcelona in the Champions League. He was asked if his club were close to signing Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci this summer to which he replied; “There are many players who want to come and play for us and among these was Bonucci. He called us to ask about a possible move but then I spoke with Juve’s Sporting Director Paratici and the response was negative, he was not prepared to sell”.
On the relationship his club has with tonight’s opponents he stated that; “We have never made any offers for Iniesta, Busquets or Neymar, Guardiola was quite clear about this in his press-conference. What the agents say is not always the truth”. When asked about any possible link with Lionel Messi, Soriano replied; “Not even for him but if he gave us a call then our doors would always be open!”
