    Rudi Garcia set to land Marseille job as Frenchman agrees to terminate Roma contract

    Rudi Garcia will be the new manager of Olympique de Marseille. The French manager has rescinded his contract with AS Roma by mutual agreement, the club have just announced through their official website.

    Garcia, a former Lille manager, was sacked by the Italian club less than one year ago with Luciano Spalletti who replaced him as the giallorossi boss.

    Garcia’s Roma contract was due to expire in June 2018, but AS Roma have announced through their official website that they have cancel the contract of the French tactician and his staff by mutual agreement.

    The Frenchman’s set to replace Franck Passi as Marseille’s coach and his first match in charge of OM will be on Sunday night against PSG at the Parc des Princes.

    ​Garcia spent two years and a half at AS Roma. He managed 60 wins, 32 draws and lost 22 games in his 114 games in charge of the Serie A giants.

    New Marseille owner Frank McCourt is also looking for a new director of sport and according to this morning’s edition of L’Equipe, former Spurs Damien Comolli is the number one candidate, though Sevilla’s Monchi and former AS Roma Walter Sabatini are still in race for the job.
